Sukanta (Color: Brown) is a tribute to the poet Sukanta Bhattacharya (1926-37). A voice of the oppressed, his poems rebelled as much against the tyranny of the British Raj as that of the ruling, social elite. He died of tuberculosis just before India gained independence. His words, however, are immortal, having etched themselves in the Bengali psyche.
Sulekha Sukanta belongs to the “Samapran” range of inks which is a unique series in special colors dedicated to thoughts, ideas, events, or causes.
