The name of this pen is given after the Diana River – a prominent, and often fast-flowing river in the Dooars region of West Bengal, India. The river originates in the hills of Bhutan and flows southwards into the plains of North Bengal, acting as an important left-bank tributary to the Jaldhaka River.
According to local etymology, the name “Diana” is derived from a native Lepcha word meaning “Big Fish”.
